DRUG BUST: Police arrested a man connected to a fentanyl lab that was discovered along with a loaded shotgun inside a Thousand Oaks apartment earlier this week.
Twenty-two people, including a teenager, were injured early Sunday in a shooting at a 24-hour art festival in Trenton, New Jersey, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Yesterday, Deputy Sheriffs Patrick Rohrer and Theresa King were transporting an inmate to court for a murder trial preceding in the Kansas City area. Outside the courthouse the suspect was able to overcome the officers and used one of the deputies guns to shoot them. Deputy Sheriff Patrick Rohrer lost his life shortly after the incident yesterday while the nation clung to hope that Deputy Sheriff Theresa King would pull through. Officers arrived and learned the suspect had entered the victim’s residence while the victim walked to a nearby trash enclosure to discard items from the residence. The victim returned, and observed a male suspect standing in the kitchen. The victim immediately ran into the residence to safeguard the victim’s four-year old son. The suspect retrieved a knife and threatened the victim to not scream, placing the knife to the victim’s throat. The suspect struck the victim several times about her head and face with an unknown object. The victim and the victim’s son were eventually able to flee to a neighbor’s house and call police. The victim’s son was not injured during the incident. Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this violent, and unwarranted assault The Oxnard Police Department partnered with a sketch artist for public view, that depicts the features of the person who committed this violent assault.
